Register of Workplace Injuries

The Register of Workplace Injuries is established by the new Law on Occupational Health and Safety (ZBZR) and represents a unique, electronically maintained database of workplace injuries, based on the reports of workplace injuries. This electronic register is established and maintained by the competent authority, with technical support from the government department responsible for designing, harmonizing, developing, and functioning of the electronic administration system, for the purpose of keeping statistics on workplace injuries.

The Register contains accurate and up-to-date information about workplace injuries, enabling data users to enter and retrieve data to determine the facts necessary for accessing health insurance rights. The Register includes the same data as the report on workplace injuries.

The Register utilizes valid codes and classifications. Data users, in line with their authorities, access and utilize the Register by authorizing access or by using data from the Register through the data user’s software solution on the government’s service bus or data exchange system.

Further conditions regarding the management of the Register are prescribed by the minister responsible for labor matters.

Employers input data into the Register. The Register receives data from the integrated health information system of the Republic of Serbia and the information system of the organization responsible for health insurance.

The employer or authorized official of the employer, responsible for entering data into the Register, inputs information about the employer, injured person, workplace injury, immediate supervisor, and eyewitness. The employer is obliged to electronically submit to the competent authority the information about the authorized official responsible for entering the aforementioned data.

After the employer enters the data into the Register, the selected physician, using the integrated health information system of the Republic of Serbia, enters the medical findings and opinion of the physician who first examined the injured person. Once the selected physician enters the data, the organization responsible for health insurance, using the information system, enters the assessment of the workplace injury.

The competent authority keeps records of the authorized official.

Data exchange is carried out in accordance with regulations governing electronic administration.

The accuracy of the data entered into and retrieved from the Register is the responsibility of the employer, the selected physician, and the Republic Health Insurance Fund (RFZO).

Access to and protection measures for data in the Register are carried out in accordance with regulations governing electronic administration, electronic identification, and information security.

The Register is located in the State Data Storage and Management Center, ensuring physical data protection in accordance with the law governing electronic administration and information security.
