Decision on restriction of provision of retail services, including the sale of goods and the provision of services in shopping malls and premises accessed through closed space

On 21 March 2020, the Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted a Decision restricting the provision of services in the field of retail trade, which covers the sale of goods and the provision of services in shopping malls and premises that may be accessed from an enclosed space (the “Decision“).

The decision prohibits the direct sale of goods to customers and direct provision of services to users of services in shopping centers and similar establishments engaged in the retail trade, which includes the sale of goods and the provision of services in venues that may be entered from a larger closed space.

Retail trade of FMCG, i.e. basic food, medicines and medical devices is excluded from this restriction.

The Decision does not refer to any other way of providing services by legal entities and entrepreneurs who perform their activities in the aforementioned facilities (sales via social networks and etc.), but they are obliged to take all preventive measures.

The Decision shall enter into force on 21 March 2020.
